Tierna Davidson joins Gotham FC
The former Chicago Red Star has signed a multi-year contract through 2026 with Gotham
After playing with the Chicago Red Stars for the past five seasons, World Cup champion Tierna Davidson is now part of Gotham FC. The defender signed a multi-year contract through 2026 with the club.
Her announcement came Tuesday morning, two days after Gotham announced the signing of Davidson’s U.S. women’s national teammate, Crystal Dunn.
“Gotham FC is at the forefront of what lies ahead for this league,” said Davidson. “The exciting and fluid style of play that the coaching staff has implemented paired with the strong team culture throughout the organization creates an incredibly exciting environment to join. I cannot wait to get started!”
The defender began her career with Chicago after being selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NWSL College Draft. She has since started 62 of her 64 appearances and has been in the league championship twice.
“Tierna is a very smart and versatile center back that has had incredible experience in the league and at the international level,” said Gotham head coach Juan Carlos Amorós. “Tierna is a great addition to the club, and we are very excited to work with her.”
Davidson has 51 appearances with the U.S. women’s national team, during which she’s recorded one goal and seven assists.
